90p a litre

Up we go again by the summer, this is getting ridiculous. Does anyone have a spare lawnmower engine I can put in my GD?

RE: 90p a litre

As long as everyone suffers together I don't care - none of us here are poor, but the government could cut a little duty for hauliers or make lpg more available. But it also p*sses me off when the americans (i.e. doublya Bush) cannot possibly consider a little restraint and continues to kick the planet.

I'm thinking of getting one of those daft looking Smart cars for everyday commuting. I've got used to their silly look now, and at 50 mpg and flexy doors which won't dent its looking more attractive. I'll leave the cob for runs in the country.

Am I stoking an argument ....? (possibly)

If a little more of it went into improving the road surfaces I wouldn’t mind so much.

As long as everyone suffers together I don't care - That is just the kind of attitude the government comes to expect from us, however I don't think this will be the case this time. If you are poor or rich is frankly immaterial, its the principal.

RE: 90p a litre

Hi

I have recently had my road car converted to LPg which I can get for 36p per litre however not many places do it
What I can`t understand is why normal Fuel is so expensive and the Tax implications on having a company car and fuel card have just changed so your money goes not as far

This is bad news as it gives me less spare change at the end of the Month for those all important tuning Goodies for the Sportster

Happy Blastin

Regards

James

RE: 90p a litre

Well watch this space I have decided to build a GD (i have already a dax ) however i will be fitting a LPG system i have had conflicting opinions , one was from a lpg company who said not to bother as it was only intended for cars upto 4 .ltr and he advised me to fit a nitro bottle instead much more fun he said .
However on further enquireies such as Plexus developements www.lpggaskits.gbr.cc
who told me they can go upto 9ltr engine capacity and that the drag raceing boys are useing gas as well , also the octane rateing is 101 and some of the compresion ratios are 13-1 the man in question was Paul and was very helpful . This could be the way to go , also the kits for a rover 4.6 was £595.ex vat

RE: 90p a litre

Hi there here is something to think about
when it was price per gallon it would go up a penny a gallon now it is metric
it goes up a penny per litre now thats approx 5 pence a gallon and of course
this is excluding any tax the kind government want to add.
plus I think the government will soon get wise to the LPG fraternity and then the tax will rise on that, just look at what they did with diesel when it became the in thing for small cars.
perhaps we should be looking at powering the cob's by steam or even looking at
hydrogen at least then the emissions would only be water
Robert have you thought about a solar powered lawn mower ????
cheers
Paul
