Local Car Rally

Hi all,

I know before everyone starts....where is Banchory. It's about 20miles due West from Aberdeen up in Scotland. We Northerners are not as lucky as you Southern club members with all the car rallys and shows to go to down there. But we do have annual shows here too.

We had a great day out yesterday at Crathes car and motorcycle rally in my local town of Banchory. The event is managed by the Rotary club of Banchory/Ternan and they did a grand job.

They had over 150 cars and motor bikes including vintage and replicas. The cars ranged from a 1923 Peugeot 172 Quadrilette, 1929 lagonda 3ltr Speed, Porsche 356 speedster replica and many more.

There was even a Pilgrim AC cobra replica.

I can't wait to get my Dax finished for next year and enter it in the rally. A great day out and I'd recommend supporting your local car events as well as the larger ones. The Rotary club raised a lot of money for a local cancer charity as well.

A grand place is Banchory. Lovely setting by the Dee, great fish amd chips from the shop at the top of the hill from the North Deeside road heading down towards the river.

Can't be beat. Been sunburnt many a time at the caravan park adjacent to the river there when I was younger..

So what is happening at Bewl Water 10th of June then? As mentioned by your good self. This is a Sat.

On Sunday the 11th is the Southern Classics meet at Bewl.

Thanks for the info.
If they are meeting on sunday they'l miss the British F1 GP, England footie match, The L-2-B 4 KITS, and a whole lot of other stuff. That's why we're doing the sat.

SE are doing Bewl water from midday onwards for a picnic and "sort out of stuff" for Le mans if we get around to it.

Everyone is welcome as it's gonna be a sunny happy day even if tin-tops are all you got right now.

I see. Didn't see our club booked for anything for the Sat. Must explain... spent many an hour working down at Bewl. Yep I work for that lot down there.

As for the F1 GP etc. that would have been the next post.

Can't make Lemans due to various reasons, but would love to go. May be free on Sat 10 June pm if my daughter hasn't got a dance rehearsal.
