| Legendary 427 Hi all Having been a new member to the Cobra scene since Jan when I bought a legendary 427 Replica I have been well impressed with the Website Frankly it is an excellent source of information and impartial advise BUT Surely I am not the only Legendary 427 Owner in the UK I know they didn`t build many but if you know anyone who has got one or had one It would be great to hear from them They were based in Middletoin near Manchester Any bits of information, gossip, hearsay or anything would be great I am trying to find out as much as possible but are hitting a brick wall I see in the Kit Car Cobra Guide they made 6+ and I see they have lots of pics of their ex Deo cat I think L5 COB Do you know who owns this car or have you seen it Regards James |

| RE: Legendary 427 James.....I can REALLY empathise with You!!.....I bought a BRA 427 six years ago!..and,like You,My kit was produced in very small numbers years ago!...I've had no sales backup..No assistance!...and to be honest...It's been BLOODY hard work!!....But,if like Me,You are pleased with the quality of the kit(and I am led to understand that the Legandary are TOP quality!)...then,just sit back and take Your time!...Because,lets face it,it's going to take time! If You get stuck with any specialist parts, drop us a line....cobraman@breathemail.net...or www.cobraman.tv. To give you an idea of what's ahead...I had to build a steering column from scratch, using thick bore 2" aluminium tubing, machined out at each end to take a pressed in bearing race...each end then had an ali plate welded to it...then drilled/tapped to take an ali cover/retainer plate...the whole thing could then take an extended Mini centre shaft, pressed into the bearings..the rate of "press" is such that,in the event of a frontal impact, the shaft will compress through the bearings!! This was just one job!!.....of the 300 that needed doing to the car...I will stick My neck out and say that,I believe building a car by this,"engineering lead" route, results in a better quality vehicle, than the"buy blind from the factory" method. Best of luck anyway...DJ. |
