tom tom. can u hear it in the cob

hi everyone,
just been scanning tomtom website and pretty much decided on new 710, i clicked on the tomtom rider just to have a look and read that it is anti glare, waterproof and has a headset to hear the instructions. my question is, has anyone got the rider version to use in the cob and those with the regular tomtom, how is it to use in the cob on the move?

I have a tom tom 700 that I use In a regular car, it is quite excellent but not too loud, you can plumb it into your radio etc.
I tried it in my pals convertible BMW, you can see it ok from the drivers seat only, but no hope at all of hearing it.

I have the regular tomtom and it's just fine in the car, I've got an amplified mount for use in the cob, and that too is just fine.....at tickover - after that it's a visual aid only :thumb:

You have a point there!! My Tomtom got itself lost and had to go back to the Netherlands for repair. The irony is that it is now lost in transit!!

So why is it that all the young bucks who come to Le-Mans with portable Sat Nav, rely on me to head the convoy with my good old paper map. :boohoo: :drive: :thumb:
