Dax V GD handling

I know there have been various discussions re whats best but has anyone driven both with similar power plants.
My Dax (v8 chevy) has been set up by Cheng Lim & tested by Gary at dax ,who says its spot on but as I have only driven my own I'd be interested to hear comparisons.
If I thought I could get a cob with much better handling I would seriously consider a change.
Can the GD be modified to accept side pipes? I know the pros & cons but I just love the look of them

Lastly, can anyone recommend a decent steering wheel, i've got a wooden motolita which looks great but feels crap.

Thanks
Lardy

PS, come for a ride with me at Elvington.

Lardy,

Maybe limit the post to those that have had both cars ???

'Course once you've had the best }(

Sorry couldn't resist (and no, I've got no experience in a DAX)

Cheers

Jim

RE: Dax V GD handling

The best person to speak to is Adrian Gould as he has owned both, the quote below is from the GD web site:

"Superb car and superb backup from Andy Burrows at GD. I have a GDEuro Chassis and I've done about 1000 miles in the car since December. I am even happier with the car than the day I bought it (& I was very happy then.!). The handling is superb and it is amazingly easy to drive whether it be slowly around town or faster on the open road.

I previously had a DAX and I don't think there is any comparison between the two, the GD wins on every aspect. I would definitely recommmend the GD to anyone. Adrian Gould"

Remember that Adrians Dax was built down to a price for a trade dealer and was WORTH far less than he paid for the GD.which was i believe built to a much better spec.
Having said that, the best thing to do is to go to Elvington and let Rob frighten the pants off you.

how was that for unbiased?

Rob, would love a spin so I'll hold you to that, but realistically would need to drive a car similar to what i'd end up with. Wonder if GD would let me test drive a demo? also any thoughts on the the side pipe issue? positive thoughts that is

RE: Dax V GD handling

I own a Dax (Chevy / TH350 / jAG) and have had the car set up spot on. Feels damn good to me. In all fairness I havn't driven a GD so can't comment. My Dax also runs Nitrous Oxide and a line locking system and moves like the preverbial.

On the subject of the steering wheel, it depends what you are looking for. I have an Alpha wheel in my car which is colour coded to the car, is nice to hold, snaps off in a couple of seconds and has a flat bottom to make getting in/out easier. The whole combo was purchased form Europa at Tutbury. The snap off adapter is manufactured by Raid and can join up to the Moto Lita boss.

Lardy

No problem, give me a shout on the day.

I have driven both, but I am not prepared to comment.
