Weight Certificate Reqd For Mot!

Tried To Book In Cob For Mot This Week And Was Told By Two Garages To Obtain A Public Weighbridge Cert Before Turning Up!

Apparently They Need To Log The Braking Efficiency Now Which They Cant Do Without The Cars Weight.

Got It Weighed Twice Today But Neither Would Print Results For Me As Were Not Public Weighbridges.

It Eventually Weighed In At 1075 Kilos Without Fuel - Its A Ram Chevy Jag Combo With Coleslaw If Anyone Needs A Figure To Start From.

Any One Heard Of This Or Is It Just Me.....again!

Lemons Classic Next Week Chaps!!!!

Dirk.

Re: Weight Certificate Reqd For Mot!

Had mine done and needed the weight so they could do the brake test, I had a copy of the mac certificate and that had all the information on it.

Re: Weight Certificate Reqd For Mot!

In 1989, the very first time I MOT'd my car I had to get it weighed and provide a certificate showing the weight in order for them to complete the brake test.
Never been asked for it since.
Cheers

Still - It Is Better Than Having To Use A Captial Letter To Start Each Word!

Dirk old chap - at least you got there in the end. My MOT tester just pretended it was an AC Cobra and used those weight figures.

Re: Weight Certificate Reqd For Mot!

Thanks chaps for your feedback - even on my typing skills! Could do better Dirk!

It must be the tester being over anal - he does remind me of Nigel Mansell now I think of it!

Re: Weight Certificate Reqd For Mot!

I had mine on Saturday, they used the AC Cobra from the chart all passed ok.

The MOT machine says its an AC Cobra anyway as Dax is not on the list, although its not that on the V5.
