Where can I buy (and have fitted) white stripes

Hi there

I'd like to get the classic Shelby white stripes fitted to the new purchase, but where should I be doing this, and presumably, it's a job best left to a professional vehicles decal appliers? Anyone out there done it? I'll be collecting the car from Cornwall and bringing it back to Surrey, so any advise or recommendations would be helpful - I'd prefer to go to someone who has done a Cob before and thus knows the sizes and what to do?

Thanks chap - very sueful stuff. But surely someone can recommend a place to get these done, or do I just go to a vinyl place, give them the specs (per your site Clive) and then get them to make and apply? But recommendations would be most appreciated - and thoughts of course...

I got mine from Viper stripes on e bay - around a tenner. Take about three days to fit as you soak them in a fairy liquid solution to move them around and then let them dry on the car.
Two areas which are a complete nightmare. Trying to wrap around the nose cone, and the boot lid at the number plate light. The contours are a bugger and send the stripes into each other. a bit of trimming and then splitting the stripe under the number plate sorted this though.
If you've got patience and a bit of time give it a go.

I just got some stripes at the width I wanted and fitted them myself.

However, as has been said, the boot is an absolute bugger with it's double curvature. In the end I marked the centreline, took it off and gave it to the guys who cut and fit the vinyl graphics, to fit as they have the expertise. Apparently, it took them nearly an hour !!

Looks good though and can be done, if you are careful in the alignment, smoothing out the film and then pinpricking the small remaining air bubbles.

Nice ideas - does seem as if it would be worth buying them from say eBay and then getting a prof company to fit them.

I have, through work, applied many vehicle decals in the past, so no the basics of application, soapy solution etc, BUT I know it is still hard to get them good.... Maybe a vinyl graphics company would do be the best to apply them.

Did mine myself. There are a few areas that aren't 100%, but i built the rest of the car so i was buggered if i'd let someone else stick them on.

Depending on how you want to fit around the bonnet scoop, that will be the hardest part. I wanted nice wide stripes, rather than just up and over the scoop, so i had to curve them over the top and down the sides. Not easy, but it is possible.
