I Think I Finally Understand It!

OK, I've never ever been into football. And funnily enough, the same seems to have been true of all by biker friends - so I've never questioned my position until now.

So the question is - why do I now feel so depressed?

With the aid of a bottle of wine and a few beers, I've just sat through the England-Portugal match. I hate to say it, but finally I think I know why people get so worked up about football. I'm absolutely gutted.

Unfortunately, I suspect my new awareness probably spells trouble for my relationship with 'er indoors, as until now we've been united in a common dislike for the "beautiful game".

That's the strange thing. England's game was crap - which has been my mantra for the last "n" years - but the revelation to me was how crap football could ever translate into an exciting and emotional game.

Maybe I just need to sober up, and the world will return to normal

Sorry just started a similar thread. As you rightly say being a biker makes me feel a bit nancy having been touched by the game but nevertheless il stand by the bunch of girls after todays performance and say they gave it there all. It just wasnt meant to be

It has to be said how many of those who are critical of our performance would still say the same had we won this game and the overall tournament.

It is those that support the team and nation of any sport at there lows that can be worthy of the same support when they go all the way. either way we are out and while the roads are still empty im off to persue some form of motorsport.

Sorry to pi55 on you fires guys but same old England same old dross and the same old story.
You can say what you like about red cards , yellow cards play acting , dodgy refs etc but the bottom line is we have a team of so called world class stars who between them earn well over a million quid a week and they can't even hit a f***ing barn door.
You can only be good by beating what's put in front of you and if you can't then your crap.End of story.

Yep....dead disappointed England are not through.......no more quiet roads
Just imagine how quiet it would have been if England had played in the final...........playtime!
Stuck in front of tv on a nice day like today watching a game where you may aswell shoot penalties and miss out the boring bit before hand....naahhh.....4pm...straight out on the roads....can't beat it. Then again maybe there's hope with the tennis.....there's some British guy in that aint there?...there's hope yet for more sun and every bugger indoors still.
