LS Tune-Up with EFI Live

Because I am running a Chevy LS6 with a mechanical throttle rather than an electronic one, I had to use an LS1 computer.

This actually worked surprisingly well, but I was sure there was a bit more to come. Met up with Richard Ingram who is the UK distributor for EFI Live and he has transformed the engine.

He flashed in the LS6 fuel and spark map, changed the flow to the injectors, increased the maximum RPM (the LS6 is higher than the LS1) and took out all the error codes and the VATs.

The engine now runs much smoother at lower revs, and the difference past 4000 rpm is amazing. He thinks he can get a bit more out of it by optimising the PE tables.

We also compared the original fuel maps etc with the new mapping, and you could see the differences in 3D.

Re: LS Tune-Up with EFI Live

Richard visited me a few weeks ago (nice chap) and demonstrated the software. It's really impressive and quite useful for those using the stock ecu.

I knew that

Blimey, whatever happened to " should I get a 600 or 750 holley"?

I 'spose this is the way forward isn't it?
