I am going to UK on July 26th (with my Cobra, of course) and I was wondering if somebody knows a camping site in Essex, close to Waltham Abbey ?Or an hotel with a good parking or a garage?
Thanks if you have informations.

Did you see your friend from Waltham Abbey? If I find no official camping site close to there, I will do "wild" camping on a parking lot.

Hiya,

I sent michael a text last night. He is on this forum under Mclark as his user. I've asked him to pm you. He's not a frequent visitor on the site though.

Good luck :thumb:

if i can remember to do this i'll look up the local camp sites & hotels for you as i only live about a mile from mike clark (worst luck ) and waltham abbey me self, just a matter of remembering.
if your about on the 6th aug why not pop along to duxford and meet some cobs, it's not to far from waltham abbey, 20-30 miles ish :thumb:

Re: Camping in Essex

Hi Queenie,

Apologies, Plod forgot to ask, something to do with his old age I think

You have a few options available of which I'll get the official details of and Pm you.

Youth Hostel in High Beech with a car park but sadly not secure.
Lea Valley Camp site in Sewardstone Road again has parking but no secure parking.
Holiday cottages (converted barn) in Sewardstone Road, has parking in front of cottage.
Travel Lodge in Sewardstone Road has car park but not secure (this is a 5 min walk from mine so yuo could park car in my garage if you want).
Debden House Camp Site in Debden.

These are all within 5-10 minutes by car from Waltham Abbey.

Regards

Michael
