Is 20+ mpg possible?

Hi,

I have a 383 stroker Dax (450bhp) and I havent yet been on a long journey at a steady 60-80mph. I am about to goto France on a 850 mile round trip and I wondered what mpg I should expect if I am crusing at 60 - 80mph for a few hours?

Paul

The answer to that is no!! I only get at best 12mpg £50 per 160 miles max!!

I have a budget of £300 worth of fuel for the Le Mans trip.

Re: Is 20+ mpg possible?

Paul. I got 29mpg on a 300 mile run back from Elvington last year at a steady 70-80mph. (75mph is 2000rpm in 5th) Although mine is a fairly standard 351 Cleveland with a 3.31 diff and a tall 0.63 5th gear

My STD chevy would only do 15 to 18mpg max. Thats when I was driving it to Scotland. Also 70mph at 2000rpm.
