London (Ohio)

I didn't go over to the Ohio Spring Fling this year, but here is a video of a friend of mine taking full advantage of his car.

The local police were, as usual, "marshalling" the drag strip which was formerly the main street of London Ohio. Speed at the top end for the run in the vid was 105mph through the Police speed trap, car is a Ford stroker small block equipped SPF, and yes they gave a prize to the fastest car of the day at 109mph.

Anyone REAL friendly with their local Police in the UK? I just can't for the life of me see any town here allowing that.........

I believe the Cobra community have made some pretty decent donations to the London (OH) police force; I'm sure that helps...

Paul/runt - SPF = Superformance. Made in SA, in the same factory as Nobles.
Shipped into the USA as complete cars, less engine/gearbox.

SPF also make a (V expensive) Brock Daytona Coupe, and a GT40 replica which is supposedly quite special, although I have yet to see one.

Thanks Wilf, saw VBH testing their Daytona on 5th Gear, that car now for sale at Rod Leach's of course, wonder if their Cobs are alloy body or fi-glass?..And how costly.

SPF cobras are grp, and go for something like $50k before engine/gearbox. Lots for sale (in the US) at cobracountry.

There are rumours that Jimmy Price (owner of Hitech, makers of SPFs) was somehow tied up with purchasing a part of AC cars, and also supposedly making ally cars for Shelby, but I have no evidence of either.
