preparing for track days

Definately taking the plunge this year hopefully at Elvington amongst other places, Spoken to various people who said be prepared to go through a set of tyres, is that right? My tyres weren't cheap so is it worth getting a spare cheap set for this purpose, also concerened about my wheels as they are painted, so wondering if its an idea to get an alternative set that I dont mind scuffing, don't need to look good just do the job. Any other words of wisdom from you lot greatly appreciated }(

RE: preparing for track days

One set of tyres on a track day, No chance. I did one set of tyres ALL last year, it was the 10 or so laps of the Nurburgring which killed them, which equates to 140 miles of hard driving in one day!!!!

Rob,

Out of interest, how fast did you get that beast of yours around Nurburgring?

No idea, too busy trying to remember which bend was coming uo next and where on the circuit I needed to be.

I was told the lap times were sub 9 mins, but didn't time it myself.
