| Python I am not interested in the various bickerings about the RV Python, and don't buy any of the kit car mags having long since tired of the poor content and slagging etc, but i am curious as to whether any of our forum readers actually own one of these kits? What are owners' impressions etc? I've already got a Dax (which I haven't touched for 16 months), but in principle, a BMW based kit seems like a good idea to me. Rich |

| Re: Python Sounds like a great idea to me... I'd pay an awful lot of money for an E34 BMW so I could build one of these... ...on an unrelated note, I've got a BMW E34 520i for sale

| Re: Python I was just curious really. Just seems strange that the middle to high end Cobra's tend to follow the jag based route when there must be a good supply of old Beemers... Thought some competent manufacturer might have tried the route by now. Dax have moved on somewhat with the XJ40 based De dion, but I guess with the limited use of donor parts the high end kits use, maybe the GD Euro is the way to go with a virtually bespoke chassis. | Re: Python Hi Rich. I would put the Python firmly in the budget end of the scale. Careful how much hype you swallow. There are lots and lots of old Jags about and I don't think the Jag based manufacturers will have anything to worry about for at least the next 10-15 years. John Gordon Jag spares and Black Country Jaguar must have over 300 axle sets stripped off cars and sat on racking ready to go. and there are many more specialist breakers. Dax are looking into a fully bespoke package for the De Dion but I think this will certainly bump the price of the parts up somewhat.

| Re: Python I note you are not buying the mags Rich, but there is an updated report in WKC this month. It seems that some improvements have been made to the prototype though these were not the main area of concern when it was last aired. I thought there were some folk on here who were at least looking into builds.

Seeing WKC on the shelf was what prompted my thread, I thought with two demonstrators and so much promotion someone must've bought one by now.... Still didn't buy any of the rags tho, my money's better spent on a copy of Fat'n'Fifty! Rich |
