fastco engines beware

just to let you all know if anyone is considering ordering an engine from fastco in usa, beware! mine is currently being totally rebuilt by a reputable builder in stoke after covering only 42 miles. looks like it has been assembled wrongly with ill-matched parts. i know of several other engines supplied by fastco that have needed surgery.

Before having a go at Fastco, did you have a chat to him about it to see what he was prepared to do about it

Re: fastco engines beware

My engine is shown on other thread. I am committed to the purchase and am obviously interested in your story. Can you tell me more or PM me.

Thanks Ian.

Re: fastco engines beware

the cobra builder who supplied me the engine has had to 'repair' several of the engines supplied to him at his own expence and has since stopped using fasco. it seems a case of how to prove the cause of damage

I think the full story should be published so members can make up there own minds, there are two sides to each story.

PLEASE TELL?
Dear Mr Jones... yes please do explain to all of us in detail before you shag any one.,. sir i do not know you & have never met you or delt with you.
Before you slander any ones workmenship please let us hear both side of the story..that is only fair as we all know.
Yes there are always 2 sides to a story& 30 + years in business i have heard
many 1 sided stories. In 99.9% of cases when there is an problem with any of our engines it is due to the owners use & tune of that engine &not following detailed instructiuons & play 'n & mess'n around with somehing they have 0 knowlage about .. when damage is done as we all know they blame the builder.& not them selfs.
Sir i have covered similar cases and my offer stands in all cases... if there is a workmenship error on our behalf we will correct that problem free of charge
if damage was done to our engine due to , improper tuning , lean , rich , condition , detonation , preignition , overheating , over reving , debris ingested into engine we & no one i know will replace there engine free of charge.
Mr.Jones we have now supplied 70+ complete turn key engines to customers in the UK & Europe... and our reputation stands on own.. with very happy customers , i believe you have fallen into the old...i screwed up & or someone has screwed up your engine & now blame Fastco Auto for the mistakes & damage that may have occured.
Sir we do not play games here all engines are 100% documented & photographed & specs kept on record here if there are any problems we should be first to be notifed .
And if we had built your engine any problem you may have should have been
discussed with us before someone has filled you head with nonsence & the need to make a quick pound on you. Laying blame and finger pointing is the easiest thing to do presenting the facts is not so easy .. in my world sir it either right or wrong with no gray area or guess'n games.
As we all know & lets not kid ourselves here we have raised the bar in BHP & quality of our engine @ prices no one can match both sides the pond... this makes well lets say some people spitefull & vendictive/ its all about the MONEY
. As proven over & over again in this form.. sir i will present the facts & only the facts in all cases & have done so in the past, read my responses to similar cases. When the truth finally comes out ... funny how the peanut gallery gets very quite.
Best regards Dr.Dee

Re: fastco engines beware

Mr Jones

I an sorry to hear about your problems with your engine. There hoever two company's that use the fastco name one is DR Dee and the other is Smax Smith who now is based in Canada and ships over engines and part though a company in Norwich.

If you engine came from the fastco (canada) then I am afraid you are just another customer to be burnt by Smax. I was also one, and have had to have my engine rebuilt due to poor workmanship and gearbox.

I have attached the link to Smax's Site.

Re: fastco engines beware

Mr Jones,

As a fellow competitor in the turn key engine supply industry, I think it would only be fair for you to provide more details of this incident. Firstly, please can you confirm which company you purchased from i.e. Daryl at Fastco or Smax.

If you are reffering to Daryl, then without trying to take sides, I agree with the contents of his response. In particular the following:-

"if damage was done to our engine due to , improper tuning , lean , rich , condition , detonation , preignition , overheating , over reving , debris ingested into engine we & no one i know will replace there engine free of charge."

It is very important that the actual cause of the problem in this case is properly diagnosed, as Daryl will stand by his word and rectify the problem if it down to his parts or workmanship.

Please note that I am not an engine customer of Daryl's, but a competitor who trades as British American Engines. (This is not an advert, but for transparency reasons). It therefore very important for our industry, that the truth of the matter is laid out.

Sincerely,

Ian Briggs of B.A.E.
