Slow web site!

Is it just me or does the site seem to be getting slower, especially when opening links to forum posts etc??

Regards

Martin

I had another user who said the site was slow, worked out that it was a local problem with some spyware.

He ended up rebuilding his OS and the forum was fine.

If it was a forum/server problem I would have a couple of hundred reports, probably going to be a local issue. First steps are to delete your cookies, close down all browsers and then log back in.

My Son had a toy steering wheel which he used to spin furiously, making loads of go-faster noises, leaning into all the tight corners, perhaps running the government feels a bit like that. You make all the noises, but when you stop you haven't really gone anywhere.

Re: Slow web site!

I use the Mozilla Firefox browser(instead of Internet Explorer).
You can block the ads on the site, so the page loads faster.
The forum seems to be running normal speed this side of the water :thumb: :thumb:

Re: Slow web site!

I use Firefox too. And Mozilla Thunderbird mail. Both are great regularly updated and free. I use the portable versions of both as I do not travel with my laptop anymore. Instead I use a Lacie 40 gig harddrive that slips in the pocket. Just plug into any computer and use and when you've finished all your settings and info come with you.:thumb: Just back from 4 weeks in Cape Town.:thumb::thumb: No problem with speed with the site from there either.

Re: Slow web site!

It has been running slow here for a while (on both laptops). We run IE6 on XP Pro. 4Meg telewest internet connection.
Rest of WWW seems ok tho.
I'm not moaning, i am glad that the site is here in whatever form .
Cheers
