Spark Plugs

After 4 years of relatively trouble free enjoyment from my DB Dax The time has come for a more serious "fettle" than usual.

So I am going to splash out on a set of new Spark Plugs for my Bog Standard Chev 350. Also a new set of Ignition Leads

So suggestions please (yes I know - it aint broke so I shouldn't fix it !)

Which Spark plugs do you guys reccommend and where is the best place to get a new set of Ignition Leads made up.

thanks

Re: Spark Plugs

Hi,
What sort of mileage have you done? Spark plugs last for ages these days as long as you check the gap at each service. As for the leads these should last a good while too.
I prefer NGK or Bosch spark plugs but it is a personal thing, as far as leads go I would suggest getting a kit (Morosso or similar) from somehere like Real Steel and make your own. (Easier than wiring a plug!)
Cheers, Clive

Re: Spark Plugs

I have just bought a set of Platinium plugs from real steel and a spacer for the airfilter, blocked up the leaking spare advance pipe on the holley and richened the idle mixture , and she's running a treat again.

was hunting at tick over and missing when very hot and bothered at Cadwell

Re: Spark Plugs

Now done about 8500 miles

Its only me fettlin - Also want to neaten leads in a tray so longer ones are needed.

Nothing wrong with the existing set up - it all works fine -

Re: Spark Plugs

The best place to get the parts and have the work done is at a local cobra specialist about 15 minutes from you. I hear they are very competitive and do a great job.
