Latest Cobra Update From Bogster

Hi all,

Well things have cooled a little in the Bogster workshop. Having to save pennies up for the next stages of the build. I had been waiting for months for a windscreen from Dax and now have given up. I called Autobrass and now have one on order from them and it should be with me in 4 weeks time. Nice chap who dealt with the order.

I've also sourced my Halibrand rims and should have them in the near future. Just have to save up for the tyres now!

I am waiting for Dax to send me the remaining overriders (one for the front and back) as the original delivery was short.

I spoke with the Aberdeen SVA and they told me that I don't need to have the car in its final colour for the SVA so I've decided to put off on the spraying until next spring.

That way I know all my hole cutting and modifications etc should be complete and it will have been through its SVA. So SVA date planned before the end of the year or early 07.

How are all the other Cobra builders getting on?

Re: Latest Cobra Update From Bogster

HI Bogster.
Its good when the ends is in sight, car looks good by the way.
Mine only has carpets, seats, cockpit trim to fit, to complete car.
SVA forms have been sent off, should have date in 4-5 weeks. All being well, car will be ready for SVA . Best of luck completing your build.

Re: Latest Cobra Update From Bogster

hi bogster,

having suspension geometry set up next week then rolling road ecu mapping on the 18th then SVA on the 20th.

original SVA booked in june but had to re schedule due to switching from carbs to throttle body injection.

good luck with the parts.

Re: Latest Cobra Update From Bogster

Hi Bogster
Looking good! A word of warning about Aberdeen though. When I was almost finished my build I contacted Swansea to see how long it would take from booking the SVA and getting a date I was told it would be between four and six weeks to process. As I had about 4 weeks work still to do I applied and in the section which asks what date I preferred I put "ASAP". When I received confirmation, the date they had set was only two weeks away, so rather than postpone I worked my socks off to get it finished. Apparently because Aberdeen isn't so busy the waiting list is shorter. So if booking put a specific date on the form.
Cheers, Clive
