Q-plate confusion

Reading the March issue of Kt-Car mag on page 9 under sidelines the following appears.

"The vast majority of kit car enthusiasts were glad to see the back of Q-plates".

So are Q-plates still issued? If not what is issued in their place.
Does anyone know the current situation?

Tony.

RE: Q-plate confusion

Hi Tony, not 100% sure about this, but as I understand things Q plates will still be issued as befote. The big change that is on it's way, is that they are going to start issueing peronalised plates for people who are stuck with Q plates, which must still heve a Q in them. Martin x( x( x( ¦-0

RE: Q-plate confusion

There are less "Q" plates about these days because it is much easier to qualify for an age related plate now than it used to be.
You used to have to have 4 major components from a donor to retain an age related plate but now you only need 2.
