RE: how young / old is a cobra owner?

36 when Dave started building mine, still 36 when it was finished.

Obviously not grown up yet, as I went out in the rain twice in the three days it's been on the road !!
Dehumidifier is complaining about being overworked. &V

Cheers,
Neil.

35 when I started planning, 37 when I started to build, probably 40+ until it is finished...

RE: how young / old is a cobra owner?

How sad is this.
I am 45 and building like crazy since December. It will be finished by May!!! whatever the challenges and i'll still be 45
I don't feel old at all just that the bug struck later for me as I had other things on my mind (my excuse and I'm sticking to it) besides I couldn't afford it earlier
I cannot wait however to drive it.
Stephen

RE: how young / old is a cobra owner?

55 when I started my build and each night I go out to the workshop my wife follows me. Last night, for instance, she told me I was standing there looking a little bemused "are you ok dear, have you set the static ignition timing to 6 degress before top dead?" I wasn't sure why I was standing there but I thought it must be ok as the Vicar had kippers for tea last Friday. Is it the blue pills or the white pills today.....

"It may be life Jim, but what do those awfully nice people in white coats want?....

31 when I started two years ago. Hopefully on the road this month, when I'll be the grand old age of 33!

RE: how young / old is a cobra owner?

54 when I started, 55 now, and probably 57 when finished. I always promised myself than when the BBC finally got rid of me, I'd build an aeroplane - but when they did, no-one yet had invented what i wanted, so I decided that I'd look better turning up at the flying club in a Cobra, than flying away in something that looked like it was built by Emmett (that dates me).

RE: how young / old is a cobra owner?

Started and finshed last year at 44.

they say you're as old as you feel, but when you stop feeling then you're old. :+ :+ :+

I say it's finished but I reckon there's always tweaks and improvements.

I've done loads of other projects in my younger days though. ~~ ~~ ~~
