RE: how young / old is a cobra owner?

Rebuilt first Jag at 24, Built first Kit Car at 34, kept that for eight years, started the AK at 43 will finish this spring at 44.

Its bl--dy painful for me to crawl under the car, so how you more elderly gents can do it fills me with admiration.

You know that you're getting old when each time you bend or kneel down you subconciously grunt and groan....

Cheers,

Tony

RE: how young / old is a cobra owner?

I didn't dare say my age for fear of being the oldest... and it looks like I am....

Started my GD Euro build 2 1/2 years ago and got it on the road mid last September just after my 46th birthday.

First fell in love with building a Cobra back in the early 80's looked at DAX, Gravetti but could not afford to do one of the spec I wanted so shelved it for a few years. Then decided in 95 to build one and chose a GD Euro, but wife did a runner so getting divorced took all available funds. Then finally started the build in 2000.

Took it out for a spin down to Hartly Wintney on the A30 on Sunday and felt 20 again. Also I saw parked in Hartly Wintney high street a cob registration H9 COB, anyone know the owner?

RE: how young / old is a cobra owner?

I now feel safer sticking my head up in such gay sorry grey company. Westfield 1 at 37, Westfield 2 at 40 and GD 45-47....... and I have no illusions that people look at the car then me and think "What's that old git doing driving like a granny in a car like that?" - and that's when I start thinking like a 20 year old. {-} Oh and its the blue pills, always the blue pills.{-}

Okay Mike, anything to keep you happy mate. I started my present car when I was 52ish can't quite remember!! After a 3 1/2 year build & 2years on the road I feel 107!! Still modifying and parting with cash! Kit car buildsing causes divorse, drink problems, & shakey bank balance, Athritis, loss of memory! Never worth it chapsx( Eric
