nice one, thats a nice set up there:thumb: best thing is to get your self to the track day at the weekend then you Can see for your self,

mk4 driving position is alot different, alot more space with adjustable steering column, the mk4 is the new body shape people say its a better replica shape.

but some still prefer the driving position of the mk3 and the slightly different looks.

get your self on www.gd-owners.co.uk to there are some pictures on there.:thumb:

good luck

Re: what's the difference

In a nutshell - the MK4 is what the majority of club members would describe as the "proper" Cobra 427 shape, whilst the MK3 is the svelte, lithe good looking one (or if we're being pedantic it's a lot closer to the Mk3 289 coil over).

Rgds

thanks ricky and jim.
what do you mean by better driving position?
I would love to attend some of the events which i hear you boys talking about, but it is too much of a marathon getting there and back.

o yes you are a bit of a trek away, erm there is allot more room inside the mk4 the cockpit space is allot bigger (well seems it) must say tho the visibility isn't as good as the mk3 but you do get and adjustable steering column and stalks with the mk4 :thumb:

ok, ricky
thanks for that.
when i bought my car/chassis i got the two build dvd's but no manual,so i guess my next step is to contact gd for access to the gd pages. Basically i'm trying to get some info, before i order the rest of my kit ,i'm frightened to speak to gardner douglas as im liable to do something rash, and have to kip in the kennel.

Re: what's the difference

Give Andy a email, he can send you a copy of the build notes. the DVD (or porn movie as we call it) is rather good but have had alot of updates since then.. but the body is rather easy... i would strongly suggest you get GD to do you engine bay flash line, then the rest is a doodle

depends on what you are looking for, i would fine someone near you with a mk3 and 4. deff see both before you buy, but also understand that there is a waiting list for the body's :thumb:

If you scroll to the top of the thread you can use "thread tools" to set how you are notified (think the default is by E-Mail if you start a thread).

As for the waiting list, it won't be quick so give Andy a bell and get you name down for a slot (I think you can book a slot but dither over the Mk3/Mk4 choice until nearer the due date) - call them, they don't bite :thumb:
