Wire wheels for GD

I am looking for a set of wire wheels that would fit my GD, I have been in touch with MWSINT.COM but they tell me that thier bolt in wires fit most Cobra replicas but not the GD.
I would also like to use my existing Toyo 225/55 ZR16 tyres.
Has anyone fitted wires to thier GD?
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks
Stuart Kaynes

Re: Wire wheels for GD

On their adverts, they say that they can build ANY type/dimension wheel , an are able to supply wheels for ANY car, even specials or home built cars .
Is it really true?
In fact , i don't know.
The best route to know is get in touch with them, that's why i gave their name!

Re: Wire wheels for GD

Just as an aside I have always thought that Wire Wheels are not that capable of handling significant amounts of power or lateral g forces. I probably picked up this idea from "Motor" magazine in the 70's.

Anyone know if this is true or just an old wives tale?

Cheers,

Tony

Re: Wire wheels for GD

I went down the wire wheels route 2 years ago; and all the manufacturers I contacted said that 350 hpwas the maximum. So depending on your engine you might be okey.
A lot of cleaning & polishing is required.:rotfl: :rotfl:
I had some billet wheels made by image and had them polished ..

Re: Wire wheels for GD

Apparently wire wheels are quite heavy compared to normal ones - I think they look great, though.
