It's home

Picked up 104 from Mr Brookes yesterday with it's first run going to be a 200 mile saunter down to it's new home in Kent.

These are cheap and nasty pic so bare with me until I get the proper camera on it..

It's got a 383 stroker which is putting out about 400bhp.

Compared to my last journey in a Cobra this one home was a stroll in the park and relatively uneventful.

I took it easy going home - generally about the 60 - 70 MPH at or about the 2000 rpm region.

My cheeks hurt from smiling too much , I'll have to get used to people tooting and then giving the thumbs up - not that you can hear the tooting much. I've lost count of the people taking photographs on their phones as they go past.

Getting home I still had a problem to overcome or confirm my calculations about the clearance my awkward driveway had to raise up, then drop into the garage. Having the drive modified and relaid earlier this year I'm happy to say it drove straight in

Since I had no idea how much fuel I was going to use I gingerly took care of filling it up when the go go juice was getting low. I've done some calculations based on the mileage I did yesterday between petrol stations. 129 Miles and topping up with 21.86 eurothingies to me equates to 26.87 MPG

All I can say to Dave and Rich at DB Replicas :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:
The support, honesty and creative suggestions I've had from Dave are a credit to customer support.

My only gripe at this time is why is it pouring with rain.

Nice one. I'll keep my eyes open for you as you're only local - or drop in the workshop for a cup of tea if you're passing and I can have a look and see if Dave is getting the hang of building these now.

PS- make sure he's wired the lights up for the first SE region meet next week!

Funny you should say that.........

Craig did forget to mention that the assistance of the AA was required as he got on the M1.
Clutch slave cylinder push rod sticking!
Craig just might be in touch sooner than you think. If he does then give me a shout.

Re: It's home

Craig,

Glad you got back safely.

I have the same engine. On the trip to Donnington and back, I got bang on 20 mpg cruising on the motorway at around 80mph, plus hard acceleration out of the roundabouts on the A43 between the M1 and M40.

Hopefully you'll have some dry days before it goes into hibernation in the garage!

Another great car from Brookesy. Congrats to both supplier and customer. :thumb:

Dave, did you get a bit carried away with your new rivet gun then?
