Re: The Car Party

Maybe a voice, but their site design absolutely sucks, and very little information on the site at the moment.

Must agree Rob, they won't be taken seriously with a tin-pot public image like that. Very amatuer indeed.

Association of British Motorists are the only ones making any sense at the moment. Definitely worth joining.

Re: The Car Party

They say mover to summertime. Why move to Summertime, why not just stay at GMT? Dark mornings are more dangerous for kids going to school than going home. Night is generally colder than day, roads have more Ice on them in the morning than at night. I was around tha last time they tried this and it was hopeless.

They say tax cyclists, I think making them have insurance would be better. Scenario:- Knob on cycle rides into the side of your car, Who pays for the damage???

Rant over........For now.

Dave - I notice far more ranting from you now that you are a BMW driver.

Maybe there is something to it after all........

Obviously based in the South. The last time we had BST through the winter it never got light in the North of Scotland till around 10.00am! Kids were walking to schol in the dark (Yes, kids do walk to school up here!) wearing reflective vests so they could be seen.

At 41 now, I was one of those kids, that's why I say go with GMT all year round. I would guess that 90% of the Uk population would not call Stoke on Trent "South"
BST=
Sleepy drivers, late for work, slippy roads, kids walking to school and dark. Not the best combo.
GMT (Home run)=
Kids finish at least 1 hour before rush hour.
You don't get the sack for being late home from work.
hopefully drivers are not sleepy.......Or (In the case of Scotland) still p1ssed from the night before.
Roads treated.

In Stoke it is light at both ends of the school day with GMT. With summertime it would be dark in the mornings.

BST plus 2 hours would have been good for Scotland, then most of your MP's wouldn't have found there way to Westminster. :thumb:

Surely if school time is GMT, then so will rush hour?
