Oil change at 3000 miles

Changed my oil and filter today. Oil looked fairly black after only 3200 miles. Using Valvoline VR1 racing oil. Some deposits on magnetic drain plug similar to a grinding paste, presumably microscopic metal particles. Is this normal? Would oil normally be black at that mileage, or am I paranoid as usual? Engine has done almost 4000 miles.

Yes, you are paranoid.

So paranoid, that I bet you look over your shoulder every time you engage "first". :rotfl: :rotfl:

PS, stop worrying about your oil, all is normal.
