Colin

I got flashed twice in France, once in Italy and once in Switzerland, that was in September and October, heard nothing since. :thumb:

The French one's where the forward facing cameras on the central reservation and the others where in tunnels. :thumb:

I didn't know the speed signs where in Kilometres. :rotfl: :thumb:

Re: Flashed in France

Some people I know (ahem) were cruising well over 140mph on their way to the Le Mans Classic and left a scene resembling a nightclub full of strobes and nothing ever came of it. Same the year before in Belgium on the way to the Nurburgring.

Not even enough points for a toaster !!!

No need to worry.....

Re: Flashed in France

Got flashed in July in Brittany and was WELL over, the postman hasn't delivered anything yet :thumb: :drive:

I had the TomTom European speed camera locations on too. What a waste of time they are. Great in the UK, rubbish in France.

Re: Flashed in France

Does this mean that if I re-register the car in Latvia, I can get away with speeding anywhere else in Europe?

Speed cameras pretty accurate on my Tom Tom 9100 on the limited journey to Le-Mans and around, perhaps yours needs updating?

Interesting ? Where did you get your speed camera database from - TomTom themselves?

Re: Flashed in France

Also been "flashed" in Strasbourg France several months ago. To date nil from the postman. I have been told that foreign registrations when caught by a static camera usually get away with it.
BUT... Thats why they tend to be a little harder with fines when caught by a mobile camera and pulled over.
Also it makes a difference if caught by Gendarme or Police - they are not the same thing !!
Police are usually regional and answer to the local government so can be heavier on fines but less likely to cause grief.
Gendarme is country wide and answers to the ministry - so are usually much tougher.

I think if you ask a member of this forum who goes under the name of TonyD he think he will confirm this after his little chat and large fine at this year Le Man Classic
