Checkout my new pipes

Mark (Fat Boy Northern) did the final fitting on my pipes today after fabricating my headers and doing A LOT of polishing. To say his work is top class would be a vast understatement, the lad is a genuis.

Absolutely made up with the end result, no visible welds what so ever, it's 100% flawless. See for yourself.

Very tasty appearance, and I bet they'll impress the 'noise abatement society' . Good stuff.:thumb:

Re: Checkout my new pipes

Looking good Kev

Are the pipes in the pictures fixed in their final position?

The reason I ask is the hole in the body looks very tight to the pipes.

When I built my car I only left about 10mm clearance at the top and the bottom of the cutouts. Due to the tourque twisting the engine this was not enough clearance and the pipes touched the body.
Good job I decided to run the car before getting it painted.

Craig.

AK tend to mount their engines to reduce nearly all movement except for a Little bit of torque twist so they should be fine. :thumb:

The holes are a precise first cut. I'll open them out by about 5-10mm or so prior to painting and after sussing out how much torque twist there is :thumb:
