Can I put the body on?

Also... Dax forgot to put the shimming washers in for my toe -ing adjustment..

Re: body on

Fitting the brake pipes isn't too much trouble with the body fitted.
Setting the rear toe is much more difficult for a DIY job if the body is fitted first.
I don't know the thickness of the shims other than they are bl00dy thin.

Re: body on

AndyS and Dave, Thanks!

A question Dave, is this picture from a new revised De Dion chassis?
I ask that because the springs are located at a different position, I recall the location at the safety belts tower.
This position looks better for the boot space but it introduces an angle at the spring shock combination.
But they should know what the best is.
In my opinion the old position (vertical) was or is a bit too much disturbance of the boot and wheel box.

Anyway the question was about the size of the shims for the rear toe-in of a DeDion chassis.
I recall a 8 mm plate……….. is that something?
Regards,
Cobra289

The angled shocks in the picture are on the early De Dion chassis. The current chassis has vertical shocks. I think they went vertical to reduce the way the shocks are loaded when the body rolls on corners etc.
(The spring becomes less effective on an angled shock the lower the ride height).
"8mm plate" Nothing to do with the De Dion.

Re: body on

Hi Dave

Thanks for your advice
-again...
A quick question...

You don't seem to have any rear disc covers....

-How do you attach the rear hand brake cables?
