side repeaters

Hi Guys,

Just been looking at the various types of side repeaters. For SVA do they have to have amber lenses, or is it OK to fit the clear/smoked lenses with amber bulbs.

Re: side repeaters

So long as they illuminate orange I can't see a problem with this.

A lot of new cars have clear lenses now as standard.

Craig.

Re: side repeaters

Do you want to fix them in the body permanently or just for the SVA ?

If just for the SVA mount the side repeaters in some mesh that sits in the air vents on the side of the wings. Then once through the SVA, remove mesh and side repeaters and fit the louvres.job done !!

Cheers,

Tony

Re: side repeaters

Don't you require side repeaters for future MOT's , every car i have put through the MOT they have been checked by the tester. or does this just apply to tin tops.

I am sure it depends on the registration year of the vehicle. Old cars do not require side repeaters or rear fog lamps for MOT.

Re: side repeaters

I put my car through SVA with smoked side repeaters and orange bulbs no problems, I have some spare ones both clear and smoke if you are after some (oval ford type)
