magnum

I see magnum engineering is for sale for £95,000. It doesn't seem alot for a company which builds such fantastic cobra replicas.I will be sorry to see mike broad retire as he really is a great engineer. good luck mike.

Re: magnum

Depends what's for sale, for that price I'll assume the buildings aren't included so wonder whether the cobra jigs/moulds are or not? perhaps already sold to a member of his staff? just a thought :thumb:

Re: magnum

It does say the jigs for the 427 are included but nothing about the moulds.Although there is a brand new 427 included in the price. The buildings are leasehold though

Re: magnum

As with all these sort of sales, the business can only be valued using turnover, goodwill and assets to come to a value.
Magnum is not a limited company, so its hard to take a view unless youre privvy to the accounts.
I would say that Mike Broad (and his considerable talents) is the key component to magnum, so, without him (assuming hes retiring some time soon, fair play to him) you can only value the business on its assets and a bit of goodwill, so one has to decide what the jigs, moulds and stock etc(including any finished cars and equipment) is worth.

Re: magnum

It does say in the advert that the body panels are outsourced so it seems the body moulds aren't included. Not a bad price though, only takes a hundred of us to put a grand in each, i have my money ready, anyone else want 100th of Magnum? (and i didn't mean the ice lolly before some smart ar*e pipes in )

Re: magnum

I didn't realise he'd only ever built 80 cars . mine was number 39 in 1990 so that makes only 40 cars in th last 16 years. They must be the rarest cobs going as well as the meanest
