Why do I have to pay Road Tax on BOTH my cars

Question.

I have two cars, the beemer and the GD.

If I am I driving my GD, I can't drive the beemer, and it is on the drive so therefore not on the public highway. And vice versa.

Sooooo, why do I have to pay 2 lots of road tax???????????????? x( x( x(

RE: Why do I have to pay Road Tax on BOTH my cars

Same reason why you cannot have two vehicles and full no claims bonus for either, I drive a Merc and Beemer, like you only one at a time,.. but I've full NC bonus (9 years) on the Merc, while the Beemer has to be in the wifes name and I'm named driver because the insurance Co will not grant me full NCB on both cars ??? I'm the one who does not have accidents, not the vehicles, therefore, I should attract full NCB on whatever and how many types of vehicles I drive. (or, should I get a motor dealer policy?)and the IC believe there giving ME A SERVICE...
Charlie.

They say that you can please some people all the time and all people some of the time.

There are those that have more than one vehicle and no drive to put them on, so they have to park on the highway - tax required. Think what would happen if you applied the same logic to MOT's.

Put road Tax on petrol so that way as you use which ever car you own say any one of the ten, the tax will apply. Also this way the more your car pollutes the air (more fuel) the more you will pay

I have been saying exactly the same thing for years
The only problem is that fuel will go up by x pence per litre and then after the next election the new party that is elected will say it was not a good idea, bring back the road tax and conveniently forget to take the x pence back off the pricex(

The other problem is if you drive a gas-guzzler you would be seriously out of pocket

Just a thought

Paul

PS I always thought road tax was originally introduced to pay for new roads and road maintenance, so where are all the 12 lane motorways?

RE: Why do I have to pay Road Tax on BOTH my cars

Eaten by the govenment.

Road tax like every other tax in britan goes into the politicians pocket first and then when they've had their cut. then the services get dealt with.

Personally i think that all politicians should be subject to a 6 monthly audit. As it's most obvious that they are lining their pockets and they need dealing with. How's the phrase got absolute power corrupts absolutly, Well Tony Blah I make no secret that i think both you and your cabinet are as bent as a three bob note

Insure them with different companys ,I have gained full no claims on two cars and a motorbike. It is true you cannot use the same certificate for two cars but when running two policys two ncb certificates are accumulated
