COBBRA CLUB TRACK DAY

Right, i have a venue for a possible track day, i cant say the exact location yet but i can say its east midlands. (RAF BASE)

The plan is to have a track day on the Saturday, beer tent and a 1/4 / sprint on the sunday.

We would need 40 cars to go ahead with it. dates are either end of july or august, will post possible dates later tonight.

In the mean time if anyone lives near this RAF base in the east midlands please pm me.

If anyone knows companies in this area that would be able to help (i.e bar, big tents etc) please let me know.

Regards

Tell us where it is, then we can tell you if we live near it!

There dosnt seem to be much interest anymore... do we still want this?

It`s probably a secret air base

OK, lets do some simple geography, 'East Mids' is one area and 'off A143 between Thetford and Bury' is another, it is in East Anglia, more specifically Suffolk and the only base there is former RAF Honington, now Honington Airfield, home of the Army Air Corps Apache helicopters( the nasty ones that shoot anything that moves in Afghanistan). If it is there then it will be great for us East Anglian members and I would imagine it would be a good surface to run on, the Tornado jets only moved out a few years ago, for others it would not be to bad to get to, A11, M11, A47, A14, A12 would bring anyone into the area but it is certainly not as central as Elvington for our Northern friends, keep is informed though, could be V interesting, cheers, Simon
