Road charging petition

I received the reply today from the PM on the web based road charging petition, it was appropriately caught in my spam folder it might be worth checking your spam e-mails if you want to read it.

If you didn't sign the petition (why didn't you sign it) and would like to see the reply, I could post it here.

Maybe it`s just me being a little sceptical but.....
1. The petition site is a government run website?
2. You must enter a valid email address to sign the petition?
3. Most email addresses can be traced back to a particular private individual?
4. If you were a politician wishing to be re-elected for another term in government and wanted to know exactly who your non voters were (1.9 million of them) wouldn`t it be a good idea to set up a petition type website?

At least Bliar knows exactly who to send the next load of bull5h1t propaganda to

Could well be, but it's certainly got the Governments attention.

It is now almost two and a half months since 1.8 million people signed this petition and what has happened? Absolutely SFA!
Does Blair and his Government think we have forgotten about it?

Actually Clive, you are wrong. Something has been happening - the Government is continuing to make preparations/design IT systems for road charging. Look for several "local" schemes being foisted upon local government - Manchester/Leicester etc.

What price democracy?

I don't hear the Blair clone saying that the tories won't do it - do you? So - no opposition worth voting for then.
