Build Completed

Big day last Sunday, finally completed the car, ready and waiting for it's SVA test, all in just under 10 months. Now very frustrated with all this glorious weather and I can't take it out past the gates

Many, many thanks to you all on the forum for helping me out over the past months especially Martin (Tinka) Chris (PurpleAK) Mike (Miket) Sidecarbod, Carl Wayland, Ian Gasgoigne, Ian at BAE and especiially all the guys at Pilgrim, they often get a slagging and sometimes do get it wrong but they really do go out of their way to help you and at the end of the day I would thoroughly recommend them to anyone.

By the way, I now need to polish it, how the hell do you wash the bloody thing????

Well done Noel car looks Fab will keep my fingers crossed it flies through the test and you can start to drive it. As for not being able to drive it Have you had it MOT'd yet cos if not it is always worth it to get it checked out and of course it is such a shame the MOT centre is not as near to home as you would want.

All the best and good luck.

Hi Martin,

Did originally planned to get an MOT test mainly to check brakes and headlight alignment (and maybe get it on the road for a run ) but was advised to delay getting insurance for as long as possible as the initial cover note only lasts for 30 days at which point insurance companies get anxious for a reg number.

Thankyou both (Mike) for your kind comments

Hi Frank,

A simple trick I got from Mark at Pilgrim, you put a couple of M10 nuts under the body where it meets the horizontal surface just behind the servo (on a right hand drive car) and rivet the body down through them. This gives a slight twist to the shell but as a consequence the bonnet suddenly fits perfectly. Previous to that I had spent many many days unsuccessfully trying to fit the bonnet, easy when you know how
