abandoned Magnum project

Hi gents, anyone out there that can give me information regarding fors and against taking on an abandoned build,at this point I do not know how old the chassis is but know that Magnum are currently marketing the Mk3. Hopefully later today I will post more details of whats on offer. What should I lookout for ie what paperwork should be with it for SVA purposes and no no to Q plate. Any suggestion would be helpfull to enable me to come to a decision. The power plant would be 4ltr V8 BMW with a 6 speed manual BM box which I already have.

Cheers guys

I dont know the Magnum chassis but if you've got 18" between the two bottom chassis rails the Beemer V8 will fit, although the NS rail may need relieving if you keep the original BMW alternator in the original position.

The most important thing re paperwork is the donor vehicles V5 that shows you have kept at least two of the major components such as front and rear axles, suspension, brakes etc. If you haven't got that V5 the "dreaded" Q plate beckons, although the quality of certain Q plate vehicles belies the lack of provenance of their component parts and therefore the Q plate is becoming more acceptable.

Cheers,

Tony

Sorry gents, on going to see this abandoned project I think this may be one of those E & M bodies, still in its raw state, single skin doors and boot lid, a chassis made from 2 lengths of 4" dia tube with jag running gear, I think a none starter. But what is it?

It looks similar to the original AC chassis (don't get too excited, I don't think it's a real one)
Pics are of a hi-tec chassis, a straight copy of the original

Can you post some more pics?

Simon

I'm pretty sure it's not a Crendon.

Z5, if you want someone to come and have a look at it with you, just shout. There's plenty of guys in the SW with enough knowledge to help you out.

I think it may very well be a magnum chassis. If there's a number on it, I'm sure magnum themselves would give you some details.

abandoned unknown project

Hi gents, more info the air vent in to bonnet is very wide, I'm guessing but only about 3" inboard of the width of the bonnet, the door skin (there is only 1) is 2" wider than the door jams. I will mail Magnum to see if they can identify it.
cheers Tom
