    Hawk Demonstrator Colour

    Hi All,

I can hopefully ask this sacred question without fear of reprisals from Hawk / Kirkham enthusiasts...
Does anyone know the colour combo of the Hawk 427 demonstrator that does the rounds at the shows? I am once again going round the houses with regards to body colour & keep comming back to the blue & white combo of the Hawk which I fell in love with when I first saw it.
Any help, hints or pointers appreciated.

    Regards,
    Martyn

I suspect if you were to ask Gerry he would tell you it's Guardsman Blue with Wimbledon White stripes Which "shade" of Guardsman Blue is another matter though
I'll be seeing him over the weekend at Detling, so I will ask the question for you. Failing that I know the guys who painted it so I can find out from them

I assume you are talking about the very dark blue of the Kirkham bodied car ?

When I asked, I was rather rudely told that it's a special Hawk colour mix !!

    Was that from rapping Gerry

Guardsman is a wonderful colour, I have two variants of it mixed from a sample I got from the states. Neither looks like the sample, it is the most mystical of colours

Its definitely not Guardsman, its much darker, more like Ford Royal Blue.

I have also asked Gerry last year and got the same reply as Paul.

Although Gerry did send me a load of piccies this week, some showing the dark blue one
    You know it makes sense

That blue ain't Guardsman. More reminiscent of the blue used by Shelby for their 40th anniversary cars.

Gerry uses Sovereign Coachworks for his painting. Some gallery pics of Hawk/Kirkhams here http://www.sovereigncoachworks.com/g...k-Kirkham-Cars Give them a call.

Funny, I was knocked out by that colour also and asked Gerry the same question at the Exeter show, I THINK he told me very politely to F**k Off
