The Downside of Cobra Ownership

The bills the bills, they're making me deaf...I mean broke

I used to laugh at a signature that stated his Cobra had a drinking problem (sorry can't remember his name) but hell do I know what he meant now On my third tank of gas already, thank god the weather's turnig bad for the next few days

And another thing, Mr. (nice) Plod loves to pull you over, just been for a chat until this evening when I was stopped by a traffic car after following him for over a mile in heavy traffic. "Your registration is not issued to any vehicle sir", "It was issued last Friday" I replied. "So what was it's registration before this then?" he came back with. "It's just passed it's SVA last Friday too" I replied. After advising that I carry this documentation (insurance, registration etc) we then got into a very pleasant conversation about the car

Will have to alllow extra time to get everywhere in the future me thinks

Good to see the £Millions the DVLA and the constabulary's spend on computer systems isn't going to waste - bang up to date !!!!! At least it wasn't a speeding ticket though

Nice to see that there is another member of the cobra club making sure the various petrol stations do not go out of bussiness.

So what do you get to the gallon Noel? Or are you too scared to work it out

I swear I can see my fuel gauge moving down when I give it a bit of welly!!

Hi Nick,

You're right, I thought I had fitted a vacuum gauge instead of a fuel gauge

I will not post my fuel consumption on the forum until I have covered some more miles

The problem is that all your friends want to see what it can do even though it is still running in It can't help can it

Kurrmet.....I think it was your signature

Noel, I bet if you'd turned off earlier, they'd have turned back and given chase!
Fuel, yep it does disappear at a shocking rate even for one who's used to large engines, Holley 650 on my Ford Windsor, dread to think how many gallons per smile!

If you want a real madman's gallon to mile economy, then fit a 454 big block with twin carbs. I must have used half the tank the other day just to prime the fuel pump before I started her up

No wonder I have to carry it around on the back of a transporter, as the petrol staions are at least a few miles apart round my way. Next build is V8 diesel I think.
