harness mounting bollo#

To comply with SVA on the Ram, my lower outer harness mounting has to be through the sill chassis beam.
I'm supposed to use the body retaining bolt but as this is in fact through a metalastic bush I guess it needs a load spreading plate (as opposed to a washer) to carry the load outside of the bush, and so do away with any chance the bush would have of flexing. Sounds like a fail.
So lets say I drill another hole, I cannot find an 8.8 eyebolt long enough. So the options are
1) use an 8.8 bolt with a lifting eye nut to DIN 582 standard - does anyone know is DIN 582 hard enough?
2) Use a bracket on the mounting bolt with an eye bolt mounted to that. This seem stupid as the bracket will not be 8.8 steel but if its meaty will it pass?
Any comments welcome!
SVA really is seeming more like a stealth tax than anything to do with safety.
Ed

I'm pretty sure I drilled and tapped the head of the existing body mounting bolt and screwed the eye-bolt into that. As far as the other end of the bolt goes just space your spreader out slightly with some small diameter washers; it can't pull through then and the bush can still flex.

Hope that helps

That was the one thing I hadn't thought of!
Still not sure about the SVA on mounting the bolt in a rubber bush but thinking about it, it could join the list of temp options.

"my lower outer harness mounting has to be through the sill chassis beam."

As supplied by RAM mine already does? It screws into a welded-in boss in exactly the same way the inner one does - except that it's vertical rather than horizontal.

I think mine must have fallen victim to "tolerances" as there's no flange. That or they just forgot!
Had another look and I think the easiest (least fighting with SVA) is to weld on a triangular flange between the outrigger and round bar running towards the boot. Easy to inspect. Can't see the wood from the trees sometimes. Just hope the body doesn't go up in smoke as I'm not taking the b****y body off again.

PS. Thanks for all the time spent with me at Stoneleigh Russell, am slowly getting all the mods in place including a steel skid plate under the nose to plough speed bumps out of the way

I found that I had to bolt through the sill chassis member for harness mounting and was told by SVA centre that the nuts had to be captive -so welded them to the underside of the rail - then as they poked through a bit I put nylocs on as well for belt & braces.
