Wanted: Ford 164t flywheel please

Hi
I have a 180t Ford flywheel, which may be some use to someone who's building a big block! It's way too big for my bellhousing and I've worked out I need a 164tooth 28oz flywheel.

If you have such a flywheel which needs a new home for a sum of cash, please let me know.

If you wish to relieve me of the 180tooth beastie for a small sum of cash then please let me know too!

Cheers

Graham

Alternatively is anyone in the process of placing an order with Summit Racing please? Would you mind adding a flywheel to your order?

Graham

Hi Graham,

I have a Ford 164 tooth steel flywheel, clutch cover, friction plate (10 spline) and thrust bearing that will fit tremmec. also clutch release arm.

All unused except arm and came from the 5sp 4.6 mustang/ 4.6 V8 MG ZT.

Will split out flywheel if you are interested

Hi John
Sounds good, but I have a niggle at the back of my head that the newer v8s from Ford were internally balanced, correct me if I'm wrong though. This would mean some serious metal addition....

Are you able to measure the dia of the hole in the middle of the flywheel and the pcd of the mounting bolt holes too please.

Thanks

Graham

Thanks for your help and advice guys, especially the phone number for Mike at Huddarts Dave. It seems the most economical way round this is to purchase a new 164t ring gear, turn the flywheel down, fit the new gear and rebalance it...!

I think I shall pass this on to someone who knows exactly what they're up to!

Graham

So long as the existing flywheel you have is in PERFECT condition - if not, get a new billet item. Never try to save money on things like flywheels which have the capacity to remove your legs if they break.

Personally, I would never use a s/h flywheel in any engine build of mine. Of course, if yours happens to be new, then you have a job in the town.
