Nice one Rodders. Rid of those horrid sierra plastic bits forever.

I have some of those too and IMO they are nicer than anything else I have seen available.

May I ask what the damage was for them? They do look rather good. No problem if you don't want to reply or would prefer the question to be put to the maker.

Here's a couple of photos of my home made ones. I made them from Stainless steel tube and turned aluminium ends.
The tube is welded to a steel plate that then bolts to the cut off Sierra arm.

P.S. The aluminum ends slide on the stainless tube and operate a push button in the end of the tube so the horn and washers are still in the correct place.

I had to relocate the horn and washer to the dash
with starter type switches.

Cheers Terry

I always wanted to keep the horn and washers where they were as I didn't want to change the Motolita centre in the wheel.

It started off as a simple idea but it soon escalated into a complete nightmare. The worst part was having to dismantle the switches completely in order to run cables up the tube and connect to the switch. These then had to be soldered onto the correct terminals inside the stalks to make the connections. It wasn't easy as the indicator has multiple springs and bits inside that tend to come out easier than they go back in. Worth the effort though.

I made the bits myself at my old company and I was going to get a CNC program written and turn out a few ends then produce a few sets to sell. I left the company soon after and I think the cost of machining all the parts would be too expensive.
If someone has a lathe I can have, I may change my mind! The switches and springs are from RS and the plates would be easy to get laser cut out of stainless and I have the Tig welder at home.....

Craig.
