Registration

I currently have the log book for the seirra, which is my donor car. But one thing that is making me wonder is that because I have a rover v8 engine from a seperate car will the registration plate be 'Q' or will it be the age related seirra one?
Any facts would be appreciated

The "Search" button is your friend!

If you have 2 of the 6 items listed on the V627-1 form (Dig it out on the net) from one donor vehicle you are allocated an age related plate.
Ther items are:-

Body/chassis
Steering
suspension (Front and rear)
Axles
Engine.
Transmission.

So, If any 2 of the above are from your Sierra then you are fine.

Hi Dave, thanks for that.
I know the search option is my friend but I thought for some strange reason there might have been a change in legislation.

I have just put mine through.
I put down the steering, axles and suspension as being from the donor Daimler. The steering column was daimler. The shocks and springs were new fully adjustable Gaz units but came off my daimler(because they could be fitted or replaced on a daimler as an aftermarket part). The axles came off the daimler.
The 3 main components mentioned will be the same as what you have for your sumo.
As an aside my mate last year sent his logbook off(cortina) before the SVA/registration showing an engine change to a 3500cc (ie rover V. Obviously the gearbox was manual anyway on logbook and didn't need changing. So when he filled out his donor vehicle parts all parts were actually from the donor. You do not need to worry about doing this as you only require the 2 major components as stated to get age related plate. This was put in place to help us and has been operating correctly.
John.

That was the answer I was looking for... Cheers John
I was worried I would have to register the v8 to the seirra log book or having to settle with a 'q' plate.
I did hear about the 2 out of 6 rule but had to be sure.
