Is aero type fuel filler SVAable?

I have fitted the aero type fuel filler cap now on the bodywork, not recessed. Looking at it, if my understanding is correct, a 100mm sphere can touch it, so it has to have radiused edges? Thing is the edges are champhered going _ then \ then | then /. If this is a fail, are there any ways of having a solution not requiring me taking it off again, eg silicone bead, stick on rubber moulding etc?

A picture of your filler cap should help if you have one.

Good idea! but quite impossible for me at the mo! However, this looks the same:
https://www.europaspares.com/FUEL_CA...ANGE_2590.html
As I tried to say, the outer edge of the rim is angular rather than radiussed, so looking at it from the side, the outer edges slopes down at 45 degrees then vertically down, then slopes inward at 45 degrees.
Does that help??

Hi Ed.
Used loads of them and never had a problem. I think the corners of the chamfer are blunted slightly and that is enough for a pass.
Tip. When taking it for SVA leave the cork gasket off to reduce the height a little.

Already done. Thanks Dave, good to know. Was about to try and bring down the government rather than do any more back pedalling!

Exactly the same one I have and sailed through the SVA c/w gasket.
