Sumo inner wings?

Caveat - this is absolutely not meant to be a contentious post.

I was browsing the gallery as I like to look at Cobra's - surprise surprise. I clicked on this posted by stevem - http://www.specialistcommunities.com...00&ppuser=2162

It clearly shows a distinct lack of inner wings. The builder has clearly spent a lot of time making his engine bay look the dogs doo-daas but isn't it going to end up a right old state by stuff getting chucked up from the front wheels? Is this normal for a sumo? I ask as someone local to me has asked me my advice on buying a sumo kit.

Sumo inner wings

Hi

I have just posted my first thread so hope i have done this correctly.

Sumo supply front inner wings as an extra. They are quite a fiddle to fit but do the job once bonded in.

Hope this helps

Regards

Peter

Red face

Hi Kev,
Mines got inner wings fitted but as I didn't build it I don't know if they are standard Pilgrim items or not.
Must agree that without them it's going to get messy under there ?
Unless he only intends to go out when it's sunny !
Regards Phil.
P.S. don't know if there's a meeting on 3/11 but If there is I can't attend as I'm away. Hows your Cobra coming along ?

Hi Kev
I have a sumo and have not yet fitted front inner wings too, there are some bling things under the bonnet but not as much as that. I am waiting for the sva approval first then they will be fitted, you won't catch me driving through any wet days anyway.

It is typical for this to be one of the last jobs that get done on the sumo as it severly restricts access to the engine bay. for this reason some people dont fit them at all.

Or fit them so that they are removable. I had to cut mine in two then bolt them into place. Being removal makes maintenace and other engine work soooooo much easier and keeps all the road crap out of the engine bay.

Would also recommend looking at ways to keep the sh1t that comes in through the bonnet scoop, away from all the shiney engine bits.

Good point Paul, my scoop is wide open, never thought of that.

I passed SVA couple of months ago and 700miles later haven't got around to fitting. They are an extra, though not sure if I'll ever get around to fitting them.

Went out in the wet - not fun in a zero-NCAP car made of fibreglass, I'll stick with the family car in the wet where I can.
