Martin

I don't think a spirit level will work as a rear gearbox mounting.

RE: at last,a rolling chassis

When you put your foot down from a standing start there is going to be a hell off a lot of force on the top rear shock mounts. I don’t know, but do you think they’ll hold? Especially with the leverage they have sticking out from the chassis like that.

Just trying to help,
Andy

RE: at last,a rolling chassis

Also, I think you might find the rear chassis twisting when cornering unless you add some form of triangular structure at the back. But then again I might be wrong. Can’t see the front clearly to comment.

I don’t know if you have been, but you shouldn’t leave your rocker covers off when working as you could get little bits of grit/dust in around the valves, which will create problems later on.

RE: at last,a rolling chassis

thanks chaps(spirit level )nice, right the engine was put in at the end of the day to ,start making the engine mounts, and the heads are faced, with masking tape, only sat on the block which also has masking tape over faced block, behind the flitch plates are some triangle stainless steel cross bracing, also the shocks have only been positioned for ride height and travel ,have now made and folded 4 mm plate top mountings, with 45 braces on, engine and box out tonight for painting , engine mounts done now ,(folded) will weld on tonight, the main reason for fitting the engine was to check the prop length, found the front prop off a range rover is ideal fit, just modified the diff flange(granada lsd 3.32)to take the bl flange, thanks for your time and comments
