Hi Vinster.
You can rig the Rover set up to run a cable clutch. but a number of Sumo owners have fitted the hydraulic conversion kit for the Sierra/Granada pedal box from Magnum Engineering....And raved about how it has improved the way the clutch works.

There are cheaper places for a sumo/rover hydraulic conversion than Magnum

When I changed my car to a V8 I used a Sierra pedal box and servo assembly, I was told it didn't matter what year or model, as long as it didn't have abs.
Having had Magnum do the conversion to hydraulic I'm sure Tony is correct in saying it is cheaper and probably quicker else where.
Regards Stu

The conversion cost about £150 from Magnum 3 years ago. I then had to buy a bigger diameter master cylinder as the original did not displace enough fluid to disengage the clutch , which was another £30.
Looking at the finished product I'm sure it could be achieved for a lot less.
Having tried a couple of cars with cable clutches and reading about the problems setting it up, I'm glad I went the hydraulic route.
Stu.
