Forum Downtime
Guys

This forum is a bit too slow for my liking, so I am going to take it offline later tonight to speed things up a bit.
  • The avatars are currently held in the database, so I am going to move them to the file system.
  • The Stylesheet is also parsed from the database so I will be moving this to a file.
  • There is a chache function which I want to enable.
So, tonight at about 2300 uk time, I will take the forum offline to move stuff around and make it a bit quicker, this will also reduce the load on the server.

Nothing fundamental is going to change, just streamline what we currently have.

My Son had a toy steering wheel which he used to spin furiously, making loads of go-faster noises, leaning into all the tight corners, perhaps running the government feels a bit like that. You make all the noises, but when you stop you haven't really gone anywhere.

Oh, the other thing I am going to do is edit MikeTs post count as he sems to be a forum whore.

I do wonder how Mike manages to post so much, It's not like he answers loads of technical stuff cos he's senile.
