Because you joined up online, its to differentiate those that just use the site and those that actually support the club.

No change to your membership on the site. The methodology to check membership numbers, assign rights, expiry etc was and is too much of a management overhead.

same as if you send a donation by paypal to robert, youre a 'senior member' like me LOL Realistically Im guessing its a lot of admin to manually change people who didnt join via the site?

Yep, they have to give me a membership number, I have to contact marion to check, sort out when they joined, upgrade them, make a note of the expiry and then downgrade them when the time comes.

If you join up online, its all automated, including emails which go out when you are close to renewal date.
