cheap Cobra

Just for fun I contacted this guy yesterday and asked him if it was an alloy body or a fibreglass body, also what type of kit was it ie Pilgrim/Gravetti/Dax etc, and he replied saying it has a metal body and was a Gravetti, ha ha, if you look at the reg and do a free vehicle check it comes up as an AC COBRA 5ltr 2007. there were quite a lot of bids at one point and I think it was upto around £3.500 then it was pulled by e bay,

The last ad in evilbay i saw like this was a 1948 triumph roadster and it was for sale from Gurnsey. I corresponded with the buyer who said that the £6k price included shipping to my door. He said that to avoid paypal charges he prefered to use western union transfer and even gave me the address of the local WU office in sunderland. A western Union transfer is not traceable or recoverable. I smelled a rat and asked if I could send a local garage round to collect. He never wrote back I complained to Ebay and the ad dissapeared. This is another well worn scam. The reply above from the seller is the email before the one that asks for a WU or moneygram type transfer.

I would love to be able to meet up with these scammers and give them a good flogging.

Cool

Guys, bid on ebay all you want, But NEVER NEVER NEVER pay money for a car you have not seen in person. ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS go and collect the car with either cash or a bankers draft.
This is on top of the usual checks you should ALWAYS do.
TOOOOOOOOO many scumbags out there.

Simon

ps, it's been said before and will be again I'm sure....If it's too good to be true, it probably is!

Any number of scams can be found on ebay just by searching for a minute or two....

Honda S2000 complete Vortech Supercharger *polished* on eBay, also Engine Tuning Parts, Performance Tuning Parts, Car Tuning Styling, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 15-Feb-08 22:08:07 GMT)

Is just one example.
