Thought this the best place to post something which WOULD affect us all....

Think this'll never happen?
Think again........ What WOULDN'T the government do to stay in power. Don't be concerned about all the thousands working in the "classic car" sector, the revenue it creates, etc etc. If it's something that will keep them in power and satisfy the "green lobby"...they will do it!

Petition to: Reject any proposals to ban or restrict the use of older cars.

yes I do know what you mean, and the roads pricing petition got ignored in one way; BUT, it did bring the topic into the media and millions of homes, and in the absence of being able to do anything else??

We could just do a Guy Falks job instead, and pop gormless gordon the grabbing jock on top of the bonfire...

Ive looked into this further with both my MP, the VMCC and the FHVC.

Errr or not!!
The crux of this is the people who put the halfbaked petition on the 10 downing st website in the first place weren't in posession of any facts, it was just based on rumour and wound up a lot of well meaning people (me and Simon included) to sign/ publicise it.
It was only after talking both to my MP and the VMCC/FHBC that I realised it was another rumour; click the link and read from page 2 down.

Don, To add insult to injury, the government yesterday said that they will be continuing with coal fired power stations, as well as new nuclear stations. What about the Co2 those things are emmiting ?? The interviewer on the news didn't say that it seemed a bit double standard to tax the motorist for CO2 emmisions. But then he probably new that there was no point in asking, as it wouldn't gain anything.

In a seperate article, they also mentioned about the 3billion cost of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan for last year. We the motorist are paying for it with "CO2 tax", yet how much CO2 does the Navy, Airforce and armed forces churn out? I doubt if they are powered by the latest fuel efficient engines.

Will quitely go back to work to afford this weeks petrol bill.
